User roles and permissions

The five roles — Admin, Manager, Dispatcher, Technician, Limited — and what each can do.

Every teammate has a role, and their role decides what they can see and do in Fieldsity. Picking the right one keeps sensitive things — billing, settings, hiring — in the right hands, while giving everyone else exactly what they need.

The five roles

Role

What they can do

Best for

Admin

Full access to everything — billing and subscription, adding and removing team members, connections, and all business settings.

Owners and partners.

Manager

Runs day-to-day operations — schedule jobs, manage clients, send invoices, track payments. Can't touch subscription or account settings, or remove people.

Your office manager or supervisor.

Dispatcher

Schedules jobs, assigns workers, talks to clients, and creates invoices. Can't hire or fire.

Office staff and receptionists.

Technician

Sees their assigned jobs, updates progress, logs time, and completes work orders. Can't change company settings or create jobs.

Field workers doing the service.

Limited User

Read-only access to assigned jobs and clients. Can't create or edit anything, or see billing.

Basic workers who only need to see what's assigned.

Note: This is why a teammate might not see a button or menu you do — it's not turned off, their role just doesn't include it. If someone needs more access, an Admin can change their role.

You set a role when you invite someone, and can change it any time. See Invite team members and Change a team member's role.
