Jobs and visits are the two halves of every piece of work in Fieldsity — and once the difference clicks, the whole app makes more sense.
The short version
A job | The work you agreed to do — who it's for, which property, what it involves, and the line items you'll bill. |
A visit | A dated trip to the property to do that work. Visits are what you see on the Calendar and what your techs work through on their phones. |
One job can have many visits
A one-off job has a single visit. A recurring job — weekly mowing, quarterly maintenance — is still one job, with a visit generated for every occurrence. That's what the Recurrence step in the booking flow controls.
This split is also how billing works: invoices are created from visits, so a recurring job can be billed visit by visit while the job itself stays open.
Tip: Rule of thumb — the job is the agreement, the visits are the appointments.
See it in practice: Create and schedule your first job.
