Send your first invoice and get paid

Turn finished work into an invoice your client can view and pay.

Invoices in Fieldsity are built from work you've already booked — you pick the job and visit you're billing for, and Fieldsity builds the invoice from it.

Create the invoice

From the Hub, click New invoice — or open Invoices in the sidebar.

The Create invoice page filled in with a client, property, job, and visit selected
  1. Under Bill to, choose the Client and Property.

  2. Pick the Job name, then the Visit you're billing for.

  3. Click Create Invoice.

Note: An invoice always starts from a job's visit — if there's nothing to bill yet, create the job first. Finished-but-unbilled work waits for you in Ready to invoice on your Hub.

Review the invoice

Your new invoice opens in Draft — nothing has gone to the client yet. The line items come straight from the visit, along with your tax rate. Check the quantities and prices, and use Add Discount or the Client Memo if you want them.

A complete draft invoice: dates and terms, bill-to details, line items, totals, and client memo

Tip: Anything with a dotted underline is editable — the issue date, payment terms, due date, service dates, tax, and memo.

Send it and get paid

The buttons at the top of the invoice page do the rest:

The Collect Payment, Email, and PDF buttons at the top of the invoice page
  • Email — send the invoice to your client. The Email Tracking tab keeps a record of what was sent.

  • PDF — download a copy to print or attach.

  • Collect Payment — record or take payment right away. Payments show up under the Payments tab.
